Honeywell Auxillary Power Unit

An APU is a critical piece of aircraft equipment that provides electrical power. While an aircraft is on the ground, the bleed air from an APU also provides pneumatic power for the plane’s Environmental Control System, ensuring proper cabin heating, cooling and pressurization. Honeywell’s 131-9 APU for Airbus and Boeing aircraft is known for its reliability and low maintenance costs throughout its entire life cycle.

Honeywell’s first APU took to the skies in the 1950s and the company has built more than 100,000 since then – with the vast majority constructed in Arizona. More than 36,000 APUs on both fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft are in service today across more than 150 regional, executive, commercial and military applications.

During the January 2009 “Miracle on the Hudson” emergency landing, a Honeywell 131-9 APU provided power for Capt. Sully Sullenberger’s flight controls, flight displays and other systems after his main engines lost power. The power from the APU enabled his Airbus A320 to touch down safely in the Hudson River, sparing the lives of 155 people onboard.

The Dexcom G7 offers customizable alerts that notify users up to 20 minutes before a low glucose event (Urgent Low Soon alert) and when the user’s glucose levels are too high. These personalized alerts provide reliability, ensuring that users are aware when it’s time to take action to manage their glucose levels.

Beoing AH-64 Apache Helicopter

he AH-64 Apache represents the backbone of the U.S. Army’s attack helicopter fleet and has accumulated over 5.3 million flight-hours, more than 1.3 million of which have been in combat. With more than 1,300 aircraft in operation around the globe, it is the attack helicopter of choice for 19 countries and counting.

With the AH-64E in production into the 2030s, the Apache will serve the U.S. Army and its partner nations as the world’s primary attack helicopter into the 2060s. As Boeing and the U.S. Army continue to invest in the latest technologies, the next evolution of the Apache brings an Open Systems Approach to integrate new capabilities like Launched Effects and enhance teaming with autonomous systems for greater interoperability.
